Lookbook

And the madness begins….

This time last year I was all stressed out completing my final collection, I can breath a sigh of relief that it is now over with. Although it was a very stressful time, I learnt a lot about myself and what I can achieve by working hard. The outcome of this was being selected to take part in GFW 2011, something I will never forget, it was such an amazing reward.

It is now that time of year again where new young talented soon to be graduates are about to take on GFW & I’m excited to see what comes out of DMU this year.

So on with look book :-) Cos bring out their look book with each season as an alternative to a catwalk showcase of their collection. At the moment we are working on S/S 2013, and I am so excited, I’m seeing a beautiful colour palette, clean yet edgy silhouettes & innovative fabrics. I can’t wait to see when it all comes together, and when I receive my copy of the new lookbook.

This is such a transition from Uni madness to being in the Cos office, but I love it. The work load has increased but I’m staying on top of it, final collection really prepared me for the intensity that fashion can throw at you from time to time. It’s also much easier knowing you don’t have to do it when you get home or over the weekend. :-)

I’m still soo happy to have been given this opportunity, and I aim to make the most of my experience.

Scissor hands

I think this has been the most I have handled a pair of scissors, I may be turning into Edward scissor hands, cutting out toiles is definetly an art, a slightly painful one at that.

After overcoming blisters & aching wrists I have found a new appreciation for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. From sketch to pattern to toile, there is a huge thought process behind it all, taking into consideration the fit, how its finished and how the design will work. The pattern team plays a huge role in this process, ensuring everything is perfect.

I am really enjoying my COS experience and it is starting to feel like home. On hearing bad reviews from some fashion interns,  such as fetching tea and coffee and not really being able to help out as much as they thought, I did have preconceptions of how it would be, but im glad to say that its nothing like that. Im treated like part of the team and forget that im actually interning, and I only fetch my own drinks :-)

The journey continues…….
